Monastiraki
Sightseeing the neighbourhood.
Monastiraki is a lively area famous for its iconic landmarks such as the ruins of Hadrian's Library, the ancient Agora, and the rebuilt Stoa of Attalus, with a museum displaying Athenian artifacts. Artisan soaps, handmade sandals and souvenir T-shirts are sold in the colorful stalls of the Monastiraki flea market. The surrounding streets are lined with traditional taverns and restaurants, many with views of the Acropolis.
