In 1953, British sea captain George Soule sailed to St. Thomas to find the perfect Caribbean cocktail.
He mixed Cruzan rum, sugar cane extract, bananas, lime juice, and a secret banana liqueur.
The drink became the world-famous Banana Daiquiri.
History of the Mountain Top attraction
Mountain Top is located on St. Peter Mountain, the highest point on St. Thomas.
It has an observation deck that overlooks Magens Bay, St. John, and the British Virgin Islands.
Mountain Top also has a large souvenir shop.
The attraction is famous for its signature drink, the banana daiquiri.
