Comuna 13
Once known as one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the world, Comuna 13 is now the symbol of Medellín’s transformation — a living example of how art, community, and resilience can rebuild a city.
Located on the western hills of Medellín, Comuna 13 has turned its painful past into a story of inspiration and creativity. Colorful graffiti murals cover its steep streets, each one telling stories of struggle, loss, and hope

Barrio Pablo Escobar
Located in southeastern Medellín, Barrio Pablo Escobar is a neighborhood originally built in the late 1980s by Pablo Escobar to provide housing for low-income families displaced by city demolitions. Around 400 families received homes as part of what he called “Medellín sin tugurios” (Medellín without slums).

Cementerio Jardines Montesacro
The tomb of Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria is located in the Jardines Montesacro Cemetery, in Itagüí, on the outskirts of Medellín. It is a simple tomb, made of dark marble, where some of his relatives also rest, such as his brother and his parents.
The place is usually adorned with fresh flowers and messages left by visitors from all over the world: some arrive out of historical curiosity, others out of respect or reflection on the impact that Escobar had in Colombia.
