Former Japanese Navy Underground Headquarters
The Former Japanese Navy Underground Headquarters is a historic site used as a command center by the Japanese Navy during the Battle of Okinawa. It was built in 1944 and is located in Naha.
From this underground bunker, military operations were directed, and many officers and soldiers remained there until the end of the battle. Today, it is open to the public, allowing visitors to explore areas such as the command room, operation rooms, and original tunnels.
The site still bears traces of the intense fighting, making it an important place to learn about the history and tragedy of the Battle of Okinawa.

Tomori no Ishibori Ufujishi
The Tomori Stone Shisa is a traditional Okinawan guardian statue located in Yaese Town. It was placed to protect the village from fire and disasters and is a symbol of local culture and beliefs. The area is also known as a former battlefield of the Battle of Okinawa, making it a place where visitors can reflect on both history and peace.

The Tower of Himeyuri
The Himeyuri Monument is a memorial located in Itoman, Okinawa, dedicated to the students and teachers of the Himeyuri Student Corps who lost their lives during the Battle of Okinawa.
These young female students were mobilized as nursing aides and faced extremely harsh conditions, with many losing their lives.
Today, together with the nearby museum, it serves as an important site to learn about the tragedy of war and the importance of peace.

Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial Museum
Okinawa Peace Memorial Park is located in Itoman City, where the Battle of Okinawa came to an end. It is dedicated to praying for peace.
Within the park, the “Cornerstone of Peace” bears the names of all those who lost their lives in the battle, regardless of nationality or whether they were civilians or military personnel.
The Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial Museum provides insights into the history and experiences of the war, helping visitors understand the importance of peace.
Today, it is a place where many people come to reflect on the past and pray for peace.
