Pointe du Hoc
The Pointe du Hoc is a 110 ft cliff overlooking the English Channel located a few miles west of Omaha Beach. A strategic position where the Germans assembled a series of artillery and fortifications and where the US Second Ranger Battalion attacked and captured after scaling the impressive rock face on June 6th, 1944.
You'll be able to explore original German bunkers by walking between the bomb craters on a path following the bluff.

Arromanches-les-Bains
Arromanches is a perfect location for a lunch stop. Although today a small resort town, you can still see remains of the large breakwater concrete structure and parts of the steel causeway from the artificial harbour "Mulberry" constructed here by the British in June 1944. This was a vital location for funneling resources to the allied forces. It’s a marvel of logistics and engineering.
