Stops include Charlie’s Place Historic Site that was once a part of the Chitlin' Circuit and its motel was listed in The Green Book. Guests gather in front of the Grand 14 Theater at The Market Common to begin boarding at 9:45 AM. We will also stop at Charlie's Place Historic Site where the greatest names in 20th Century American music performed from the 1930s to the 1960s. The club itself, which had been a popular stop on what was known as the "Chitlin' Circuit," is no longer there, but Charlie's home is along with a reconstruction of his motel that was listed in THE GREEN BOOK, a guide for African-American travelers during segregation.
