At 6:30 am we will board our vehicle and receive a briefing to leave Cusco. The tour will begin with a scenic drive to Ollantaytambo. During the journey, we will enjoy beautiful landscapes and take a 25-minute break. Then, we will continue to the highest part, “Abra Málaga”, at 4,316 meters, at the foot of the Verónica snow-capped mountain. From there, the trip continues with a descent towards the jungle edge, passing through various microclimates. We will continue to the town of Santa María and Santa Teresa, known for its Cocalmayo thermal baths and production of coffee and coca leaves. Finally, we will arrive at Hidroeléctrica for lunch. Then, we will begin a 3-hour walk along the railway, following the Vilcanota River and the Waynapicchu Mountain, until we reach Aguas Calientes, where we will settle into the assigned lodgings and enjoy dinner with the guide who will inform us about how to visit Machu Picchu.
