Itinerary
1
Paris
Explore Le Marais with a local host who understands the district’s history, character, and everyday rhythm. One of Paris’s oldest neighborhoods, it reflects centuries of change, from aristocratic residences to a vibrant cultural hub. Before your experience begins, you will receive a short online questionnaire so your host can design a personalized route based on your interests, pace, and travel style. Here are some places your host may include along the way:
2
Parish Church of Saint-Paul of Saint-Louis
Begin at Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis Church, a striking example of early Baroque architecture in Paris. Built in the 17th century, it reflects the influence of the Jesuits and marks the historic entrance to Le Marais from Rue Saint-Antoine.
3
Place des Vosges
Continue to Place des Vosges, the oldest planned square in Paris, completed in 1612. Its symmetrical red-brick façades and arcades once housed nobility, and today it remains one of the most balanced and quietly elegant public spaces in the city.
4
Rue des Rosiers
Walk along Rue des Rosiers, the heart of the historic Jewish quarter. This street reflects layers of cultural identity, with traditional bakeries, long-standing delis, and small shops that have shaped the area’s character for generations.
5
Sully Hôtel Sté
Pass by the Hôtel de Sully and nearby hidden courtyards, once private mansions built for aristocrats. These quiet inner spaces reveal a different side of Le Marais, away from the main streets and preserved with remarkable detail.
6
Marché Couvert des Enfants Rouges
Finish at Marché des Enfants Rouges, the oldest covered market in Paris, dating back to 1615. Still active today, it reflects the neighborhood’s everyday life, where locals gather for fresh produce and simple, informal meals.
