Tate Modern
One of the city's most popular attractions, this world-famous gallery of contemporary and modern art is located in what used to be the Bankside Power Station, just south of the Millennium Bridge.
You will meet your guide at the gallery's main entrance, and from there you will begin a wonderful journey through a magical world of fine art.
Visiting art galleries with children is something many families actively seek to avoid, but our professional guide will keep your children entertained and enthusiastic and will make sure your visit is a thoroughly enjoyable one.
The Tate Modern collection comprises masterpieces by artists of the caliber of Picasso and Matisse, and it is home to one of the finest collections of surrealist art in the world, with paintings by the likes of Dalí, Magritte and Mirò. Moreover, the gallery also holds a significant amount of American abstract expressionist art, including paintings by Pollock, as well as the nine Seagram Murals by Rothko.
With work by artists such as Lichtenstein and Warhol, you will also be able to admire some fine examples of pop art, as well as minimal and conceptual art.
The tour will include a selection of the above in order to give you an idea of the wide range of art that can be seen in the gallery, with the guide helping you to put the exhibits into a social and historical context while suggesting certain interpretations. Your children will be entertained by a number of enjoyable activities devised by your highly-qualified, expert guide.
The museum's balconies can also offer spectacular views across the Millennium Bridge towards St Paul's Cathedral on the opposite bank of the river.
