We recommend wearing well-worn, sturdy trekking shoes and clothing suitable for a jungle hike (breathable, preferably long sleeves and legs that also offer protection against leeches; cotton or quick-dry materials work best). If you prefer, bring a change of clothes.

Please bring sun hat, sun cream with a high sun protection factor, mosquito repellent and drinking water.
•
We offer lockers in the activity centre where you can store everything you don't need during the trekking tour.
•
After the trekking tour you have the opportunity to shower and change your clothes, towels are provided in Balikaru.
•
We can accommodate dietary needs such as vegetarian. Please kindly indicate this special requirement at the time of booking.

Sanur Beach
In the morning your personal guide picks you up for a scenic drive through Bali’s countryside. Enjoy sweeping views of emerald rice terraces, small villages, and farmers at work in the fields. There’s time for photo stops along the way before reaching the cool, misty slopes of Mount Batukaru—the island’s second-highest peak.

Luhur Batukaru Temple
You arrive at the foot of the mountain and at Pura Luhur Batukaru, one of Bali’s most sacred temples. Surrounded by ancient trees and soft mountain mist, locals come to this temple to seek blessings before important journeys. You’ll do the same—joining a short temple visit to “ask permission” from the forest spirits before entering their realm. The scent of incense, the sound of flowing water, and the quiet devotion of the place create a deeply peaceful start to your trek.

Mount Batukaru
Step into the lush rainforest that blankets Mount Batukaru. Guided by your personal guide and a local ranger, follow narrow jungle paths beneath towering trees and giant ferns. The air is fresh, the forest alive with birdsong and the distant call of monkeys.
Your ranger knows the jungle like his home—pointing out wild orchids, medicinal herbs, and secret trails. Along the way, he shares stories of nature’s balance and local survival skills passed down through generations.
Midway through your adventure, pause at a hidden jungle temple. Freshly brewed coffee and homemade Balinese snacks await you here—a simple but unforgettable picnic surrounded by the sounds of the forest. It’s a moment of calm and connection with nature’s rhythm before continuing your trek.

Mount Batukaru
After your hike, relax on a scenic drive to a peaceful mountain village. The road winds past picturesque rice terraces—a masterpiece of traditional irrigation known as subak. Stop for photos and take in the breathtaking mountain scenery before reaching the next destination.

Balikaru
From the upper village, a short walk leads you to Balikaru, a family community surrounded by tropical greenery. Stroll through the garden filled with more than forty species of plants, herbs, and spices—from lemongrass to galangal, from chili to pandanus. Learn how they’re used in Balinese healing and cooking traditions.
A refreshing drink and a 15-minute Balinese massage will restore your energy and balance after the trek.

Warung.Balikaru
Enjoy a relaxed lunch at our authentic village Warung, a family-run restaurant with beautiful garden views. Your hosts prepare Nasi Campur Tumpeng, a colorful and traditional Balinese meal served with local vegetables, meats, and fragrant spices.
Sit back, enjoy the breeze, and feel the easy rhythm of mountain life. Changing rooms and showers are available if you wish to freshen up before continuing your day.
Note: If you are looking for a place to freshen up after the trek, the Activity Center has changing facilities, toilets, and showers.

Belulang Hot Spring
Your journey continues with a visit to the Balikaru Farm, where you’ll discover how villagers cultivate rice, cocoa, coffee, and tropical fruits using traditional, sustainable methods. Wander through the farm filled with herbs and spices, and sample fresh produce straight from the fields—a genuine taste of Balinese village life.
Afterwards, enjoy a leisurely walk through the mountain village, passing traditional houses and everyday scenes of rural Bali. Your guide shares insights into local customs and the community’s close connection to the land.
The walk ends at the Belulang Hot Springs, where locals bathe in the natural sulfur waters believed to have healing properties. Relax in the peaceful setting or dip your feet before heading to your final stop.

Before you return to your hotel, make a final stop at Pengempu Waterfall, a true hidden gem tucked away in Bali’s lush countryside. A short walk through tropical vegetation leads you to this serene spot—where clear water cascades into a small, emerald pool surrounded by jungle greenery.
