The Church of the Holy Sepulcher holds unparalleled significance as the holiest site for millions of Christians worldwide. It marks the exact location where Jesus was crucified, buried, and subsequently resurrected. In its early history during the Byzantine era, it was even more expansive and carried the name "The Resurrection Church," commemorating the pivotal event of Jesus' resurrection from the dead.

Following a brief interlude, our journey will resume as we tread upon the Cardo, a Roman-era thoroughfare that has endured for over two millennia.

During this period, Armenian monks established their residence in Jerusalem.
