Sierra Negra
Visit the active area of Sierra Negra Volcano, inside the caldera, you will get close to the sulfur mines and see the fumaroles where the gas chamber is located, this is a half-day tour experience that combines history, nature, hiking, and a great landscape where knowledgeable naturalist guides certified by the Galapagos National Park will explain all the volcanology aspects of the Galapagos islands formation and volcano activity.
The total hike is 3km which makes it accessible for families with kids and people who don't want to walk much but still want to observe the caldera and the sulfur fumaroles.
Initially, you will go 1 hour from the town to the site for starting the hike, passing for a guided tour in a car through the endemic vegetation located at the southern flank of the volcano.
The total time is 5 hours from the pick up at your hotel until the drop off at your hotel.
