Chatchai Market
Chat Chai Market is the old market in Hua Hin for 80 years where utensils, food, fresh and dry seafood are sold. Rice and curry, rice porridge, pig blood soup, and Chinese oil stick served with coffee or soy milk are served as breakfast here. It is the source of souvenir and fresh dried seafood at a reasonable price such as squid, crisp squid, giant catfish, mackerel, dried shrimp, and shrimp paste.
Chat Chai Market is the famous market in Hua Hin among Thai and non-Thai tourists. It has been the famous market that was built in 1953, the reign of King Rama VII. The market was built as the royal word of when he and Princess Rambai Barni first visit Klai Kangwon Palace. Purachatra Jayakara was the leader of the construction and offered the market to King Rama VIII. The market was constructed with reinforced concrete with the 7 connecting half-circle roof to indicate that it was built in the reign of King Rama VIII.
