Drarga
In Drarga, goats are indeed famous for climbing argan trees to eat the fruit and leaves. This behavior is quite remarkable because argan trees can grow up to 8–10 meters tall, and the goats are incredibly agile, balancing on branches that seem too fragile for their weight.
Their climbing habit also has an interesting side effect: when goats eat the argan fruit, the seeds pass through their digestive system and are sometimes collected from their droppings. These seeds are then used to make argan oil, which is highly valued for cooking and cosmetic purposes. So, these goats aren’t just a spectacle—they actually play a role in local agriculture and the argan oil industry.

Souk El Had d'Agadir
After visiting the famous goats climbing the argan trees in Drarga, you can head to Souk El Had to experience the vibrant local culture. The souk is one of Agadir’s largest markets, filled with spices, textiles, pottery, leather goods, and handmade crafts, including argan oil products harvested nearby. It’s a great place to try Moroccan street food, practice bargaining, and soak in the lively atmosphere, all just a short drive from the argan tree goat-spotting area.
