Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids
*The Bent Pyramid * was built by King Sneferu, the first ruler of Dynasty 4. It is known as "bent" because of its unusual shape caused by a change in angle during construction. The pyramid started at a 55-degree angle but was changed to 43 degrees because the weight of the blocks made it unstable. After this, the king's builders created another pyramid nearby, called the Red Pyramid .
