Itinerary
1
Parque Natural de Somiedo
It is one of the most unspoilt natural places in the north of the peninsula. Starting the way in the Alto de la Farrapona, you will discover the Lakes of Saliencia : a spectacular glacier complex formed by Lake Cave and Lake Black. You’ll have time to peer into the Mirador de la Cueva and explore this iconic corner of the Cantabrian mountain range, surrounded by peaks and fresh air.
2 hours and 25 minutes
2
Pola de Somiedo
We will head to Pola de Somiedo, where we will take a small guided tour of orientation. Afterwards, you can explore the village at your leisure, learn about its local pulse and enjoy good traditional food.
1 hour and 50 minutes
3
Senda del Oso
In the afternoon, we will move to the council of Proaza to discover the famous Bear Path. There, you will learn firsthand the history and recovery of the Cantabrian brown bear before visiting the fence where several specimens live in semi-freedom. Throughout the journey, the guide will enrich the experience with stories about the landscape and local culture. It is the ideal choice to condense in a day the best of Asturias: high mountain, traditional architecture and the encounter with our most iconic fauna.
