Take a local train from Sendai Station to Yamadera Station.

Risshaku-ji Temple
Established in the year 860, Yama-dera (Hojusan Risshaku-ji Temple) is the setting for poems of Matsuo Basho, Japan's most famous poet in the Edo period. It is gaining popularity as a sightseeing spot where visitors can relish the scenery after climbing 1,015 stone steps. Blessed with abundant nature, this place has an atmosphere that can be enjoyed in every season. After heading down the mountain, enjoy free time for lunch. Please note that lunch is not included and is at your own expense.

Take a rapid train, bullet train and bus to the historic hot spring town of Ginzan Onsen.

Ginzan Onsen
Ginzan Onsen is filled with a retro atmosphere where visitors can feel as if they've traveled back in time. This traditional hot spring town features wooden hot spring lodgings lining both banks of the Ginzan River, a townscape so scenic that a government ordinance has been passed to preserve it. Revel in the nostalgic atmosphere while enjoying a stroll around the hot spring town.
