The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities
Established in 1902 and situated in Tahrir Square, Cairo, the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities is a prestigious institution renowned for its extensive collection of over 120,000 artifacts spanning various periods of ancient Egyptian history. The museum boasts treasures from the pre-dynastic era to the Greco-Roman period and is particularly famous for its display of Tutankhamun's tomb artifacts, including the iconic golden mask. The neoclassical architecture of the museum enhances its historical significance. Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu)
The Great Pyramid of Giza, also referred to as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops, stands as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and is the largest among the trio of pyramids situated on the Giza Plateau in Egypt. Erected during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt, roughly between 2580 and 2560 BCE, the original height of the pyramid was 146.6 meters (481 feet). However, erosion and the loss of outer casing stones have led to its current height of around 138.8 meters (455 feet). Constructed using massive limestone and granite blocks, the pyramid is widely believed to have served as the burial tomb for Pharaoh Khufu. The intricacies of its construction methods remain a subject of ongoing study and fascination, and this monumental structure stands as an enduring symbol of ancient Egyptian civilization. Notably, the Great Pyramid is precisely aligned with the cardinal points of the compass.

Great Sphinx
Positioned on the Giza Plateau near Cairo, Egypt, and oriented towards the rising sun, the Sphinx is a legendary and iconic limestone statue. Crafted during the rule of Pharaoh Khafre in the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom (circa 2558–2532 BCE), this colossal statue is commonly interpreted as a representation of the Pharaoh with a human head atop a reclining lion's body. Its head is widely believed to depict that of Khafre. Standing at an approximate height of 20 meters (66 feet) and spanning about 73 meters (240 feet) in length, the Sphinx serves as a guardian at the entrance to the Giza Necropolis. Surrounded by mystery and speculation, the Sphinx is notable for its missing nose. Ongoing studies by scholars and archaeologists aim to unravel the symbolic significance and historical context of the Sphinx within the framework of ancient Egyptian civilization.
