Also known as Castle of Lousã, it is part of one of the first defensive lines created in the second half of the 11th century to control accesses south to Coimbra.

Next to the castle is the river beach of Our Lady of Mercy. Here, the main attraction is a small waterfall, and a baloit over the water ready for an original photo.

Slowly, the Cerdeira Village project began to gain shape until 2018, when it became Cerdeira – Home for Creativity, a community of arts where creativity and nature are the denominator.

Near the river of São João, this natural village nestles in an amphitheatre called Candal. Benefitting from the ease of access compared to other villages, Candal is generally considered the most developed of the shale villages and is one of the most visited.

Talasnal is the shale village of Serra da Lousã that has given the most visibility and charm to visitors. Its size and disposition, together with many details of the restoration of its homes, give this unique place a magical aura. In addition, it is a village that seduces us by the mouth where you can eat some of the best delicacies of the Lousã mountain.

Surrounded by a green to lose sight, the New Couple is the dream of living in the countryside. This once abandoned village has been reconquering residents to its relatively large shale houses where viewpoints and balconies break the monotony. A steep staircase, the main street, (which is a staircase) leads to two stairs from where you can see the beautiful Serra da Lousã.

Once an important serrana village, today, Chiqueiro is one of the smallest villages of shale. Despite this, it captivates visitors from the first glance. Walking through the chafarz, the tank and the chapel, observing the houses, where you still live as before, or just enjoying the spectacular landscape, are truly gratifying pleasures.
