Itinerary

Blagaj tekija
Blagaj will be our first stop, some 15 minutes of drive south-east of Mostar. The famous well of the river Buna located there represents the largest source of karst in Europe. A 200 meters high stone cliff with a cave complex in it is located above the source and it is an unforgettable sight for all visitors. The water comes from a 15 meters wide cave, it is freezing cold and clean and a lot of endemic species of trout found their habitat in it. Next to the source, a 16th century Dervish house – Tekke is still one of the most mystical places as well as one of the most important cultural and historical monuments in all of Bosnia&Herzegovina. An opportunity to have fantastic coffee/tea with a traditional local fig-cake “smokvara” at the base of the spring of magnificent river Buna should not be missed.

Kravice Falls
Kravice is one of the largest waterfalls in Herzegovina and certainly the most impressive one. The waterfalls have a natural pool dug out at the base of the falls by the constant rush of refreshing water. It is a favourite local swimming hole with a picnic area, cafés and restaurants. We will enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Trebižat River and walk beneath the Kravice waterfall, we will have some time here for an enjoyable and leisurely swim (if you are doing this trip in summer time). If you prefer to relax, there are plenty of gorgeous spots in the shade from where you can enjoy the spectacular views and take some amazing shots with your camera.

Pocitelj
Počitelj, a hidden jewel of Herzegovina lies on a hillside that makes a kind of amphitheater and overhangs the turquoise Neretva River. This pleasant settlement is located 30 km south of Mostar on the road to the Adriatic coast. Its special Ottoman architecture and Mediterranean style blend of which give this town a special dimension, makes it a real gem of architecture. This unique stone town has been inscribed in 2007 on the Unesco World Heritage Tentative List. The fortress was built in the late 14th century upon the order of the famous Bosnian King Tvrtko but Počitelj is mentioned for the first time in writing in 1444 as the seat of the parish. Počitelj is a real, open-air museum and a much cherished place by numerous artists who, in this magical scenery, find inspiration for their works of art.

Mali Ston
Famous architects, including Juraj Dalmatinac (best known for Šibenik Cathedral), were involved in the design and construction of Ston's extraordinary 14th-century defenses, which originally included 40 towers and five forts, and stretched for 7km. Twenty towers and 5.5km of wall are still standing, arching far up the hill between Ston and Mali Ston. You can walk the Ston section in 15 minutes; allow an extra 30 sweaty minutes to continue up and over the hill to Mali Ston.
Later restaurant with oysters orlocal delicacies.
