It is a temple famous for its building called 'Kinkaku Sariden'. Unfortunately it was burned down in the 1950 fire, but it was rebuilt in 1955 almost as it was.The three-tiered luxurious Kinkaku (Shariden) has gilded gold foil in the second and third layers. Kinkaku is a unique structure that uses different architectural styles for each layer.

Kiyomizu temple was first constructed during the early part of the Heian period and is believed to date back on the year 768.
