Place de la Bastille
A day to discover the essence of the French Revolution.
You will start your visit with the Place de la Bastille. Its fortress was a true symbol of absolutism. Its attack on July 14 1789 marks a turning point in the history of France.
Your guide will give you the details of the Storming of the Bastille.
You will know more about the leaders of the Revolution: Danton, Marat and Robespierre….
You will also discover the sad fate of the royal family.
You will visit the terrible Conciergerie prison where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned.
You will discover where the terrible Guillotine was invented.
The visit will end at Place de la Concorde. Today it is the largest square in France surrounded by magnificent buildings. During the Revolution it was the place of exe-cutions.
The blood flowed there so much that the horses refused to cross during the Terror.
A day full of emotions during which you will discover everything you wanted to know about the French Revo-lution.

Le marais district. You will see beautiful Hotel Particuliers (Mansions) where aristocrats & nobles were living in the 17th and 18th century. You will see also the remains of a terrible prison used during the Revolution.
