The Valley of the Kings, located in Luxor City, Egypt, on the west bank of the Nile, directly across from Thebes (modern Luxor), is the core of the Theban Necropolis. Comprising two separate valleys, this archaeological site served as the burial ground for pharaohs during the New Kingdom.

Reaching an impressive height of 97 feet (30 meters), the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari boasts an unusual architectural design. Built around 2050 BC by Mentuhotep II, the founder of the Middle Kingdom, this temple features a distinctive sloping, terrace-shaped mortuary structure.

The Valley of the Queens in Egypt, historically known as Ta-Set-Neferu, meaning "the place of beauty," served as the burial ground for the esteemed wives of the pharaohs. Renowned for its significance as the final resting place of numerous Pharaohs' consorts, the Valley of the Queens stands as a counterpart to the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs themselves were laid to rest.

The Colossi of Memnon, comprising two colossal stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, proudly guards the entrance of the dilapidated Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III, which stands as the largest temple within the Theban Necropolis.
