Cathedral of Salta
The Cathedral Basilica of Salta, in addition to being a true expression of architectural wealth, is above all the symbol and manifestation of the faith of all those who pilgrimage in this Particular Church of Salta. The Sanctuary protects the images of the Lord and the Virgin of the Miracle, the patron saints of the city of Salta, who every September 15 receive thousands of devotees from all over to renew the Pact of Fidelity.

Convento San Bernardo
This beautiful colonial-era building is among the most typical in Salta, it is one of the oldest buildings in the city and the only one of its kind in the country.
Its imposing carob door, hand-carved by the natives in 1762, is a representative symbol of this site.
Its construction dates back to 1586, it was not until 1726 that it was enabled as a “San Andrés” hospital and later this facility became part of the “Las Carmelitas” cloistered nun convent.
Like other emblematic buildings in the city, the convent was declared a National Historic Monument on July 14, 1941.

Basilica Menor San Francisco
One of the iconic churches of the city, located in the heart of downtown and a few meters from the main square.
The current basilica dates back to the 18th century, it was built by Fray Vicente Muñoz and later embellished by the refined architect Luis Giorgi. Its Italianate style and its terracotta, ivory and white colors make it a true architectural treasure of the city.

Monumento al Gral. Martin Miguel de Guemes
At the end of Paseo Güemes and at the foot of San Bernardo Hill is the Monument to the gaucho Martín Miguel de Güemes, one of the undisputed heroes of Salta.
It was inaugurated in 1931 and has the particularity of having been built with rocks extracted from San Bernardo Hill.
Every June 17, the city honors the gaucho hero with parades where various forts participate. The celebration highlights the “Guard under the stars” on the eve of the 17th, where the gauchos gather at the foot of the monument in the traditional bonfires and guitars.

Cerro San Bernardo
Cerro San Bernardo is a municipal nature reserve that rises to a height of 1,454 meters above sea level.
It is one of the natural points that brings together the greatest amount of biodiversity in the area.
Its trees are made up of various species native to the region. Its great wealth of birdlife is ideal for bird watching, which can be seen along the 1070 steps that make up the climb to the top.

Monumento 20 de Febrero
The Monument to the Victory of Salta or the Monument to February 20, arose after the decision of the General Assembly to build a monument in honor of the memorable Battle of Salta and the important victory in defense of the principles of independence.
One hundred years passed until the result of the beautiful work could be seen, which was born from a brick monument, a wooden cross and the donation of four blocks located in the Campo de la Cruz. The prolongation of the war and civil conflicts delayed the execution.

Quebrada de San Lorenzo

Mercado Artesanal Tradicional
To finish the tour of the city of Salta, we will end at the iconic Artisan Market of the province. The mansion was built at the beginning of the 19th century and its large gallery stands out where the different stalls selling crafts and regional products currently operate.
