Temple of Karnak
In the early morning around 5:00 a.m. you will be picked up by your tour guide in a comfortable, air-conditioned small bus. The good German-speaking Egyptologist is picked up.
The trip to Luxor takes about 4 hours past the Nile valley past fields and houses of the farmers. The excursion takes place in a small group with a maximum of 8 people. Your guide will be by your side throughout the trip and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Arrived in Luxor our first visit will start in the Karnak temple. The Karnak Temple is the largest temple complex in Egypt on the eastern bank of the Nile. One of the most important construction areas of the temple is the large columned hall. The temple complex consists of three areas surrounded by walls. The first is the Amun (ancient Egyptian Ipet-sut "place of election"). The second area is the Month area and the third area is the Courage area. The oldest remains of the temple that are still visible today date from the 12th dynasty under Sesostris. Until the Roman Empire, the temple complex was repeatedly expanded and rebuilt. Outstanding among the ruins are the temples of Amun-Re with its ten pylons. Among other things, you will see the sacred lake, it has a size of 120 × 77 meters and is located south of the central temple building, the lake is fed by groundwater. Marvel at the large columned hall, statues, pylons and obelisks.

Valley of the Kings
After lunch we drive to the Valley of the Kings, which is located about 5 kilometers northwest of the city of Luxor. In ancient Egypt, the Valley of the Kings was known as the “Sechet-aat large field”. In the Valley of the Kings there are over 70 graves carved into the rock. In the Valley of the Kings, in particular, the tombs of the rulers of the new empire (approx. 1550 to 1069 BC) were 18 to 20 dynasties. To protect the mummies, they were removed from the tombs in the 22nd dynasty and hidden in other tombs. In 1922 the tomb of Tutankhamun was discovered largely intact. The systematic search and opening of graves began with Napoleon's expedition to Egypt. The Valley of the Kings is one of the main draws for tourists in Egypt. Only a small part of the graves can be visited, as a changing part is closed for conservation reasons. Since December 2009, photography and filming are no longer permitted. Since 2018, photography without flash was allowed against the purchase of a photo permit at a price of around 15 euros.

Colossi of Memnon
After visiting the temple complex of Karnak we continue to the famous Colossi of Memnon. Memnon colossi in Arabic “el-Colossat or es-Salomat” are two adjacent Egyptian colossus statues from the 14th century. They represent King Amenophis III, who sits on a throne, looking towards the Nile. The statues are still around 18 meters high, including the base.

According to Egyptian chronology, it was recorded from 1479 to 1458 BC. Her spouse was Thutmoses II. The name Hatshepsut means "The first of the noble women who embraced Amun" The entire temple is made of limestone and is the best preserved temple on the west bank in Thebes.
