The city had many master craftsman, and the city had some of the most beautiful statues and decorations. Due to the quality of the work and a large amount of marble nearby the temple to Aphrodite was once a breathtaking place of worship.
As the city prospered it became a hub for business as well as the fine arts, this led the city has some stunning buildings including its own Odeon theatre (council chamber). Aphrodisias had one of the largest stadiums of the era, that held a variety of entertainments that would have been common for the population to wish to see during the time.
