San Ignacio Miní stands as the best preserved Jesuit Mission of the 16th and 17th centuries throughout the Argentine territory. Around the main square, you find the Church, the “Casa de los Padres”, the cemetery, the houses and town hall. Native stones and large pieces of red sandstone were used to build San Ignacio city. The Wanda Mines is a great place especially known for its deposits of precious stones, turquoise, amethyst and rock crystal. Since 1976 they have become a tour for all those who come to these distances known as the Jungle region.

We will start our tour early in the morning from hotels in Puerto Iguazú. On this day trip, passengers will have the opportunity to explore the main beauties of the province.

Departing from Puerto Iguazú, just 45 km away, we arrive at the city of Wanda where we can admire the Precious Stone Mines.
Explore the beauty of agates, jasper, original topaz, and more within the Wanda Mines, and don't miss the opportunity to take pictures inside the gems! These exquisite varieties can be observed and purchased, allowing tourists to capture the allure of these precious stones. The gems extracted from the mines are transformed into dazzling pieces of jewelry. During the 220 km journey to the Ruins of San Ignacio, we will see the diversity of landscapes and different plantations of tea, yerba mate, conifers, etc. Here, we will visit the facilities of a mill where yerba mate is processed using the most artisanal method.

Ruinas de San Ignacio
Upon arriving in San Ignacio, we will visit the San Ignacio Ruins, a historic site founded in 1632 by the Jesuits. The restored stone structures showcase the architecture and layout of one of the region’s most important mission settlements, reflecting the interaction between Guaraní communities and the work carried out in the missions.
