Palani Murugan Temple
You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Palani Murugan temple situated at a distance of 70 miles from Coimbatore. The drive to the temple takes around two and a half hours. You will go past villages in the countryside of the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Upon arrival, visit the temple along with your guide who will narrate the story of Lord Murugan, and why he left his heavenly abode on Mount Kailasa to come to Palani.
The temple is situated on the top of a hill. For the devout pilgrims there are steps leading to the temple. Others can choose between a rope car and a funicular railway. There are 38 sub-temples attached to the main temple. The idol in the main temple is made of an amalgam of nine poisonous substances which when combined in a certain ratio form a potent medicine. Pilgrims flock to this temple and get tonsured here in order to pay their respects to Lord Murugan.
Once your tour will be finished you will be driven back to fixed point / your hotel.
