Palazzo Pitti
It's hard to miss the Pitti Palace: it's the largest Renaissance palace in Florence. The gigantic dimensions (the facade is about 200 meters long!) immediately catch the eye.
5
Santo Spirito / San Frediano
Our favorite neighborhood in the middle of Oltrarno. Lovely square with some sights and especially nice restaurants with ditto terraces.
6
Church of Saints Michele and Gaetano
This baroque church, with a beautiful sculpted facade on Florence's smartest shopping strip, was built between 1604 and 1648.
7
Duomo - Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore
The Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore or simply the Duomo is the cathedral basilica and the dominant symbol of the Italian city of Florence. It is the fourth largest cathedral in Europe.

Museo Casa di Dante
The museum housed in the Casa di Dante is entirely dedicated to the poet and his work, but also shows what Florence looked like in Dante's time.
9
Basilica di San Lorenzo
Several members of the Medici are buried in the church and in the adjoining sacristy and burial chapel.
10
Mercato Centrale
Nice to walk around here between the small restaurants in this covered market. You can taste everything and have a nice glass of wine with it.
11
Campanile di Giotto
Giotto's bell tower is one of the four principal monuments on the Piazza del Duomo in Florence. 84.7 metres tall and approximately 15 metres in breadth.
12
Ponte Santa Trinita
Ponte Santa Trinita is a beautiful and historical bridge over Arno in Florence. Here is not as popular as Ponte Vecchio, but worth visiting.
