It had the Temple of Philae moved from its original place on Philae Island and was assembled on Agilika Island, after the construction of the High Dam.

A water dam on the Nile River in southern Egypt, was established during the reign of Gamal Abdel Nasser, and the Soviets contributed to its construction.
