From here, we’ll walk through Kichijoji’s famous shopping arcade on the way to the festival site, introducing you to the everyday charm of the neighborhood along the way.

Tokyu Department Store Kichijoji
Since opening in 1974, Tokyu Department Store has been a long-time favorite among locals. It also serves as one of the main venues for the Fureai Summer Festival, held on July 23 and 24.
Enjoy the Ennichi fair, where you can use festival tickets to try delicious food, refreshing drinks, and fun traditional games. Then, join the locals for some lively Bon-odori dancing under the summer lights!

Gesso-ji Temple has deep roots in the local community and becomes the heart of the town during the Sun Road Gesso-ji Temple Summer Festival, held on August 1 and 2.
