The Salé side is more traditional, with its medina, but modern projects like the Grand Théâtre de Rabat and the Wessal Bouregreg project bring a contemporary touch to this rapidly developing area.

Hassan Tower
The Hassan Tower in Rabat is an unfinished minaret dating from the 12th century, intended by Sultan Yacoub al-Mansour to be the largest mosque in the world. Standing 44 metres tall, although it was intended to be 80 metres, the tower is built of red stone and overlooks the city and the Bouregreg River. Around the tower are the remains of the mosque's columns.

Mausoleum of Mohammad V
The Mohammed V Mausoleum in Rabat is a majestic monument, built in white marble and decorated with zelliges and carved woodwork. Inaugurated in 1971, it houses the tombs of King Mohammed V and his sons, King Hassan II and Prince Moulay Abdallah. Located opposite the Hassan Tower, this sacred place reflects the respect Moroccans have for their monarchy. The green tiled roof, the symbolic color of Islam, contrasts with the bright whiteness of the building, creating a harmonious and soothing ensemble. It is one of the most visited and respected sites in Morocco.
