Boone Hall Plantation
A USA Today’s 10 Best Choice as the “Best Plantation in the Charleston Area!” Take a trip through history as you explore one of America’s oldest working, living plantations. Boone Hall Plantation was purchased in 1955 by the McRae family and opened to the public in 1956. Along the tour, enjoy the history of Charleston and its legends!
Inclusions: House Tour: This 30-minute tour begins on the front porch and is given by a well-informed guide in historical dress. The tour also introduces you to the history of Boone Hall Plantation and its evolution through several owners since 1681.
Slave Cabin and History Presentation: Look at the living quarters, historic relics, and lifestyle of the enslaved people who lived here at Boone Hall.
“Exploring The Gullah Culture:” Boone Hall Plantation is the only plantation to offer a live, seasonal presentation of this unique culture adapted by African enslaved people.
If available, there is a seasonal plantation tram tour as well!
