Itinerary
1
Barrage Lalla Takerkoust
During the drive from Marrakech, travelers will enjoy a scenic stop overlooking Lalla Takerkoust Lake. Surrounded by mountain backdrops, this peaceful reservoir offers beautiful photo opportunities and panoramic views. Your driver will briefly pause so guests can stretch, take pictures, and admire the contrast between water, desert hills, and distant Atlas peaks.
10 minutes
2
Agafay
As the journey continues, travelers will pass through the rocky landscapes of the Agafay Desert. Unlike the Sahara, this lunar-like terrain features rolling stone hills and wide-open horizons. Guests will enjoy scenic views from the vehicle while learning about the region’s geography and nomadic history.
10 minutes
3
Amizmiz
After approximately one hour of driving from Marrakech, travelers arrive in Amizmiz, the gateway to the High Atlas Mountains. Here, they will meet their professional local guide and begin a 2 to 3-hour hike through scenic valleys, terraced fields, and traditional Berber villages. Guests will interact with locals, learn about Amazigh culture, and enjoy stunning mountain landscapes.
Midway through the hike, travelers will be welcomed into a Berber family home for a traditional lunch (about 1 hour and 40 minutes). They will enjoy freshly prepared Moroccan dishes, homemade bread baked in a clay oven, and mint tea.
After lunch, the hike continues for approximately 2 more hours through peaceful trails before returning to the starting point. The experience concludes with a 1-hour drive back to Marrakech.
