A chance to discover the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park and see the landscape and scenery that inspired James Herriot.
You'll visit the locations used in the current series of All Creatures Great and Small such as the Village of Grassington, which is currently being used as Darrowby in the series. You'll drive through villages and over passes admiring the views and taking in that in stunning landscape. You'll stop at Bolton Castle where Herriot proposed to his wife and was a favourite location of the author.

Please note; due to the Yorkshire Dales Rally on 28th and 29th of March 2026, there maybe some road closures and/or traffic disruptions in the area. This could mean that the tour may need to follow a slightly altered route or complete the itinerary in a different order than originally planned. Please be assured that all scheduled highlights will still be included wherever possible, and your driver/guide will ensure you have the best experience on the day.

Please note on the dates listed Castle Bolton will be closed to the public and therefore will not be visited on your tour. (6th June, 12th June, 27th June, 17th July, 26th July, 1st August, 22nd August, 11th September and 26th September 2026)

Visit the medieval Bolton Castle, once a prison for Mary Queen of Scots, this beautiful castle has stunning views over Wensleydale. The castle was a favourite place for James Herriot and is the place he proposed to his wife.
