Nairobi - Road head (3300m) 4 hrs, 350m Ascent, distance of 7 km.
We depart from Nairobi in the morning and drive to Mount Kenya Bandas for Lunch. It is a 4-hour drive that’ll give you ample time to enjoy the view of Kenya’s agricultural rich countryside.
After lunch, we start hiking Mount Kenya towards Chogoria Road Head camp along a dirt road. The trek gives us scenic views of the Giant’s Billiards Table, Ithanguni, and Mugi Hill. These magnificent land formations are only found in the highest Mountain in Kenya. There is also the option of trekking along the river to Road Head. The 3 km path by the river is adorned with beautiful flora.
We reach Road Head, have dinner, and stay overnight at the campsite.
