Sita Temple
Seetha Amman Temple, located in Seetha Eliya near Nuwara Eliya, is one of the most important Ramayana trail sites in Sri Lanka. According to the Ramayana, this is the place where Princess Seetha was held in captivity by King Ravana after she was abducted from India.
It is believed that Seetha lived here during her imprisonment, and the cool, serene surroundings resemble the environment described in the epic. The temple complex includes a stream believed to be where Seetha bathed, and footprint-like impressions said to belong to Lord Hanuman can be seen on a nearby rock.

Divurumpola
Divurumpola, located near Welimada in Sri Lanka, is a sacred site closely linked to the Ramayana. According to legend, this is the place where Princess Seetha underwent the Agni Pariksha (trial by fire) to prove her purity after being rescued by Lord Rama from King Ravana.
The name “Divurumpola” comes from the Sinhala words Divuru (oath) and Pola (place), meaning “the place of oath”, referring to Seetha’s vow of purity. It is believed that Seetha emerged unharmed from the fire here, reaffirming her chastity and devotion.
Today, Divurumpola Temple is revered as a powerful spiritual site, symbolizing truth, faith, and righteousness, and is an important stop on the Ramayana Trail in Sri Lanka. Devotees visit the temple to seek blessings, especially for marital harmony and trust.

Ramboda Waterfalls, located in the scenic hill country between Kandy and Nuwara Eliya, is linked to the Ramayana through legends associated with King Ravana. According to belief, this area was part of the route used by Ravana when he transported Princess Seetha after abducting her from India.
The surrounding mountains and dense forests are said to have been used by Ravana as a hiding and resting area, making Ramboda an important location along the Ramayana Trail. Some legends also suggest that Ravana’s forces guarded this region to prevent Lord Rama’s army from advancing toward the central highlands.
