The reservoir on the River Cetina is 29 km2 in size, 20 km long and 64 m deep. Lake Peruča was created by the construction of a 56 metre high dam. In the summer months, when the water level drops due to lack of rain, the Dragović Monastery appears on the surface. Lake Peruča is home to many plants and animals, especially various species of fish. It is therefore not surprising that the local fishermen know the lake inside out. Although it may not look like it at first glance, Lake Peruča is full of hidden bays and beaches. This treasure trove has a lot to offer - the Cetina spring, the stone bridge made of Stećak's tombstones, the Church of St. Salvation, views from the Prozor fortress, rushing fountains, goats and sheep on the country roads, elderly people chasing cows, chickens on the way to the beach and all those things you don't usually see in everyday life.

What is Izvor Cetine? Izvor Cetine (Croatian for source of the Cetina) was once one of Croatia's best-kept secrets and visitors can't get enough of this unique, beautiful place. As the word 'spring' suggests, this is the place where the river Cetina gushes out of the earth. Due to its unique shape, Izvor Cetine - or the source of the Cetina River - is also known as the "Eye of the Earth". The water bubbling up from underground forms a natural pool and pours into a nearby river, which feeds it with fresh spring water. Some 105 kilometres further on, the cold water flows towards the Adriatic Sea, to the town of Omiš. In fact, the majestic Cetina River is the longest river in Dalmatia and supplies most of the region with water.
