Temple of Philae
Your day begins with a warm welcome from your knowledgeable guide, who will accompany you on an enriching exploration of Aswan's most significant historical sites.
Our first destination is the magnificent Philae Temple, a testament to ancient Egyptian ingenuity and devotion. Originally located on Philae Island, this stunning complex was carefully relocated to Agilkia Island to save it from the rising waters of the Nile following the construction of the Aswan High Dam. As you wander through its towering pylons, intricate carvings, and graceful colonnades dedicated to the goddess Isis, you'll be transported back in time, imagining the rituals and ceremonies that once graced these sacred grounds. Your guide will illuminate the fascinating history and mythology associated with this remarkably preserved temple.

Unfinished Obelisk
Next, we journey to the fascinating site of the Unfinished Obelisk. Here, lying in the ancient granite quarries, is a massive obelisk that was abandoned after a flaw appeared in the stone. This colossal monument offers a unique insight into the techniques employed by ancient Egyptian artisans in quarrying and carving these impressive structures. You'll gain a deeper appreciation for the sheer scale and ambition of their architectural endeavors as you stand beside this silent testament to their craftsmanship.
Following our exploration of these remarkable sites, we will return to the comfort of your Nile River cruise ship. A delicious lunch awaits you onboard, allowing you to relax and savor the flavors of the region as the vessel prepares to set sail.

Temple of Kom Ombo
As the afternoon unfolds, the cruise will gently glide along the timeless waters of the Nile, carrying you towards our next remarkable destination: the Temple of Kom Ombo. This extraordinary temple holds a unique distinction, as it is dedicated to two distinct deities: Sobek, the crocodile-headed god associated with power and fertility, and Haroeris, the falcon-headed god representing the sky and kingship. The temple's symmetrical design features twin entrances, twin courtyards, and twin sanctuaries, each dedicated to one of these powerful gods. Your guide will unravel the intriguing stories and symbolism associated with these deities and the fascinating dual nature of this captivating temple.
As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the Nile landscape, we will return to the cruise.
