In one of the world's oldest museum dedicated to books, printing and writing, you will enter the high-security vault and get a close-up view of the Gutenberg Bible printed around 1450 in Mainz. Understand the impact of this masterpiece by the "Man of the Millennium". Another highlight is the live printing demonstration; sit down for 15 minutes and see how letters were cast and how pages were printed nearly 600 years ago by Johannes Gutenberg in his local workshop. See beautiful historic printing presses and learn about the many different aspects of the first generation of printed books.

After the museum, you will visit the places where Johannes Gutenberg worked and lived as well as his birthplace, the church where he was baptised, the remains of his workshop and his burial site.
