This morning, you’ll travel north from Tangier to the charming city of Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of flat plains that gradually transition into green hills and mountains. Once in Chefchaouen, explore the city’s iconic blue-washed medina, known for its relaxed atmosphere and friendly locals. Wander winding streets, discover the central Plaza Outa el-Hammam, and enjoy a bite to eat at one of the nearby cafés or restaurants.
For those seeking a bit of adventure, trek uphill to the historic city walls and follow the path to Hotel Atlas, where you can admire panoramic views of the Blue City from the rooftop. Later, take a 20–30 minute hike to the Spanish Mosque, a white hilltop mosque built in the 1920s that was never used. Its elevated location provides a perfect vantage point to watch the sunset over the Rif Mountains. This is a perfect photo opportunity and a tranquil way to end your first day in Morocco.
