What stands today as the A.E. England Building hides a much darker past. The most famous is the “woman in white,” often seen wandering the halls or appearing unexpectedly in guest rooms.

As the oldest Catholic church in Phoenix, St. Mary’s Basilica carries more than a century of history, and mystery. Early accounts describe eerie encounters near the church, including sightings of headless figures dressed in white appearing late at night. Visitors have also reported shadowy forms, whispers, and the unsettling feeling of being watched from within the church grounds.
