Tokoname is famous for producing thousands of maneki-neko (lucky cats), and as you walk through the town you will encounter countless statues with playful and varied expressions. The Takita Family Residence, once the home of a prosperous shipping agent in the Edo period. This beautifully preserved merchant house showcases traditional Japanese architecture and the lifestyle of a wealthy coastal family.
