Chapman's Peak Drive is one of the World's Most Spectacular Drives, an absolute must-do experience for any tourist visiting Cape Town. The road is dramatically carved into the sheer face of Chapman's Peak, with stunning drops down to the deep-blue Atlantic Ocean on one side, and towering sandstone cliffs rising on the other. You can take the Flying Dutchman Funicular for a scenic three-minute ride up the steep incline to the lighthouse viewing point, offering spectacular panoramic vistas. It remains a powerful landmark, named by Portuguese explorers for the "good hope" of finding a sea route to the East. Wildlife Spotting includes animals like Cape Mountain Zebra, various antelope such as Eland and Bontebok, numerous ostriches and Baboons:Whale Watching: Between June and November, the area is a good vantage point for spotting Southern Right Whales. Activities & Experiences Hiking: A variety of trails cater to different fitness levels, from easy walks to the more challenging two-day Cape of Good Hope Trail.
