Der Zirkus
The Circus Clock (Berkeley Memorial)
Standing proudly at the center of The Circus, a historic roundabout in Basseterre, the Berkeley Memorial is one of St. Kitts’ most recognizable landmarks.
This ornate, cast-iron structure was built in 1883 and features a unique combination of a clock with four faces – each one pointing toward one of the four streets that converge at the square – and a drinking fountain at its base. It was dedicated to Thomas Berkeley Hardtman Berkeley, a former president of the General Legislative Council in the 1880s.
Also known affectionately as “Little Ben,” the memorial was designed by George Smith and Co. of Glasgow, Scotland, and is the only surviving example of its kind. It is a popular spot for photographs and serves as a convenient central reference point when exploring the capital city.

This tall obelisk, known locally as ‘The Cenotaph,’ serves as a solemn reminder of the impact of these global conflicts on the local community

Perched on the narrow southeast peninsula, this iconic lookout is the only place on St. Kitts where you can see the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other, all at once .

The south side of Frigate Bay offers calm, smooth, crystal-clear waters that are gentle on the body. The soft golden sand invites you to sink your toes in, while the warm Caribbean Sea soaks your muscles and washes away the day’s exertion.
This is where you come to relax, recharge, and soak in the island vibes. The gentle waves, the cool breeze, and the sound of the water create the perfect setting to let go and simply be
