Once known as Pall Mall Square, Independence Square is a historic landmark in downtown Basseterre. In the 1700s, it served as a marketplace and gathering area during the colonial era. It was renamed in 1983 to celebrate St. Kitts and Nevis’ independence.

Located on the edge of Independence Square, this beautiful twin-towered church is one of Basseterre’s most striking landmarks.

Built in the 19th century on the site of earlier churches from the 1600s, St. George’s Anglican Church stands as one of Basseterre’s most historic landmarks. Its Gothic architecture and stained-glass windows reflect the island’s deep history and faith.

Challengers is one of the island’s oldest villages, rich in culture and local history. Located along the scenic western coast, it’s known for its friendly community, lush green hills, and views of the Caribbean Sea. The area also holds historical ties to early plantation life and the island’s first freed slave settlements.

Bloody Point is one of St. Kitts’ most historic sites. It marks the location of a tragic 1626 battle where hundreds of Carib people were killed during conflict with European colonizers. Today, the area is peaceful and green, serving as a reminder of the island’s early history and the strength of its people.

Old Road Town is one of the oldest settlements in St. Kitts, founded in 1624 by the first English colonists. Near the historic Wingfield Estate and Romney Manor, it’s a quiet village with deep roots in the island’s sugar and cultural history.

Wingfield Estate is one of the oldest sugar plantation sites in the Caribbean, dating back to the early 1600s. Set in the lush foothills above Old Road Town, its restored ruins, aqueduct, and mill foundations offer a vivid look into St. Kitts’ early plantation history and colonial past.

It’s located just outside Basseterre and handles international flights from the US, UK, Canada, and nearby islands, plus regional Caribbean connections. It’s the island’s only major airport and the main gateway for visitors coming to St. Kitts.

Frigate Bay is one of St. Kitts’ most popular areas, known for its golden beaches, calm waters, vibrant nightlife, and a wide range of restaurants and bars along “The Strip.” Upscale Housing in Frigate Bay- Frigate Bay features some of the island’s most upscale residential neighborhoods, with luxury villas, modern condos, and hillside homes offering stunning ocean and golf-course views. Final stop is a Beach Stop (Those who prefer not to stay can return to the ship with the tour bus.
