Once everyone is on board, you'll travel through the beautiful South Valley, leaving the city behind as the landscapes gradually change into the breathtaking Andean highlands. As the sun rises over the Andes, your guide will introduce the day's itinerary and share fascinating information about the local communities, Andean traditions, and the importance of the Vilcanota Mountain Range, home to some of Peru's highest peaks. Arrive at a local restaurant where a freshly prepared breakfast and lunch will be served before continuing toward Rainbow Mountain. Enjoy a variety of local and international breakfast options while surrounded by peaceful mountain scenery. This stop also gives you time to use the restrooms, stretch your legs, and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Upon arrival at the ATV base, your guide will provide a comprehensive safety briefing before the ride begins. You'll receive your helmet and learn how to safely operate the ATV, including how to accelerate, brake, steer, and handle different trail conditions. There will also be a short practice session to ensure everyone feels comfortable before starting the journey. Your ATV adventure begins as you ride across wide mountain trails surrounded by spectacular high-altitude landscapes. This is one of the highlights of the tour, allowing you to explore remote areas that most visitors never experience. Along the route, you'll enjoy panoramic views of: The vast Andean grasslands. Rolling mountain valleys. Crystal-clear streams fed by melting glaciers. Traditional farming communities. Herds of alpacas and llamas grazing in their natural habitat. Native wetlands (bofedales), an important ecosystem for Andean wildlife.

After parking the ATVs, you'll begin the final section of the journey on foot. This gentle walk takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes, following a well-defined mountain trail. With every step, the colorful layers of Rainbow Mountain gradually come into view, creating one of Peru's most spectacular natural landscapes. Arrive at the famous Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), located at more than 5,000 meters (16,400 feet) above sea level. Take your time to admire one of Peru's most extraordinary natural wonders while surrounded by breathtaking panoramic views. During your visit, your guide will explain: How Rainbow Mountain was formed over millions of years. The natural minerals responsible for its vibrant colors. Why the mountain only became visible after glaciers gradually receded. The geological history of the Andes. The cultural and spiritual importance of these mountains to local Andean communities.

After exploring Rainbow Mountain, you'll walk back to the ATV parking area before beginning the return ride. The journey back offers a completely different perspective of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and rivers, allowing you to appreciate the beauty of the Andes from another angle. Additional photo stops may be made if weather and trail conditions allow. Relax during the drive back while enjoying one last look at the magnificent Andean landscapes. As you travel through traditional villages and mountain valleys, your guide will answer any remaining questions and share additional stories about the culture, history, and daily life of the people who call this region home. Arrive back in Cusco and be dropped off near the historic city center.
