Wachirathan-Wasserfälle
One of the highlights of Doi Inthanon National Park is Wachirathan Waterfall, a majestic cascade that plunges over 80 meters down a granite cliff into a lush green valley. The sheer force of the water creates a refreshing mist that fills the air and often produces rainbows on sunny days, making it a favorite spot for photographers. The waterfall is surrounded by dense forest, with trails and viewing platforms that allow visitors to admire it from different angles. The roar of the falling water combined with the cool breeze offers a rejuvenating break in nature.
Wachirathan is not just a scenic wonder but also an important part of the park’s ecosystem, as its waters nurture the surrounding vegetation and provide a habitat for various species of birds and butterflies.
Spending time here allows you to soak in the natural beauty and tranquility that northern Thailand is so well known for.

Naturlehrpfade The Ka
Located close to the summit of Thailand’s highest mountain, the Ang Ka nature trail leads you into a mystical world that feels far removed from the heat and bustle of the lowlands.
The trail winds gently through a mossy cloud forest, where cool temperatures, high humidity, and constant mist create the perfect environment for rare plants, orchids, and ferns to thrive. Ancient trees covered in thick moss and lichen form natural archways, while delicate epiphytes dangle from the branches, giving the entire forest a fairytale-like atmosphere.
What makes the Angkha Nature Trail so special is the sense of tranquility and timelessness it offers. Walking here, you’ll often find yourself enveloped by clouds drifting through the trees, with birdsong and the sound of dripping water as your only companions.
This is not a strenuous hike; it is short, flat, and accessible to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level.

King & Queen Pagoda
The two majestic pagodas on Doi Inthanon, officially known as Phra Mahathat Naphamethanidon and Phra Mahathat Naphaphonphumisiri, are among the most iconic landmarks in northern Thailand. Commonly referred to as the King and Queen Pagodas, they were built to honor King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) on his 60th birthday in 1987 and Queen Sirikit on her 60th birthday in 1992.
Set high on the slopes of Thailand’s tallest mountain, the pagodas stand side by side, symbolizing the deep respect and love the Thai people hold for their monarchs.
Both are surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens filled with vibrant flowers, which provide a breathtaking contrast to the cool mountain air and sweeping views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
Inside each pagoda are impressive Buddha images and intricate murals that depict Buddhist teachings and the importance of living in harmony with nature.

Die königliche Landwirtschaftsstation Inthanon
The Royal Agricultural Station Inthanon is a remarkable project established under the initiative of King Bhumibol (Rama IX) with the goal of improving the livelihoods of local hill tribe communities while also protecting the natural environment of Doi Inthanon. Before its foundation, slash-and-burn farming and opium cultivation were common in the region, leading to deforestation and poverty. The station was created to introduce sustainable agriculture, providing new crops and techniques that could replace destructive practices and offer better income for local families.
Today, the station is a thriving center of research and development, focusing on high-altitude agriculture, horticulture, and environmental conservation. Visitors can stroll through gardens filled with colorful flowers, temperate plants, and rare orchids that thrive in the cool mountain climate. There are also experimental plots where vegetables, fruits, and herbs are cultivated using modern yet eco-friendly methods.

Ban Mae Klang Luang
Ban Mae Klang Luang is a peaceful Karen hill tribe village located within Doi Inthanon National Park. Surrounded by lush mountains, rice terraces, and forest, it offers visitors a glimpse into the traditional lifestyle of the Karen people, who have lived here for generations in close connection with nature.
The villagers are well known for their sustainable farming practices, especially their beautiful step rice fields, which turn a vibrant green during the growing season and golden at harvest time. Coffee is another important crop here, and visitors can taste freshly brewed Arabica coffee grown, roasted, and prepared locally.
Walking through the village, you can observe daily life, learn about traditional weaving, and see how local products are made. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, offering a wonderful contrast to the busy city life.
