Shinkyo-Brücke
Recognized as one of Japan's most beautiful historic bridges, Shinkyo Bridge serves as the symbolic gateway to Nikko's sacred shrine and temple district. Its striking vermilion-red structure spans the Daiya River and creates a stunning contrast against the surrounding forest scenery throughout the year. According to local legend, the bridge marks the spot where the Buddhist monk Shodo Shonin crossed the river with divine assistance more than 1,200 years ago.
Guests can admire the bridge from the riverside viewpoints, take memorable photographs, learn about its fascinating history, and enjoy one of Nikko's most iconic landmarks before continuing to the UNESCO World Heritage shrines nearby.
