Reiseplan
1
Saint John Street
The first location on the tour will be the staircase used as the entry to Slough House. Why was this location, which is a short walk away from the filming location for Slough House, used? Find out on our Slow Horses Tour!
10 Minuten
2
fabric
The notorious nightclub was used as the filming location for the scenes where Roddy and Tara dance, watched by Shirley and Cartwright.
This location is an excellent example of when two very different locations are used for the exterior and the interior of a location for filming. As we walk past fabric your guide will explain why two locations are often better than one!
0 Minute
3
Beppe’s Café
Beppe's Cafe is where Jackson Lamb enjoys his breakfast in series five of Slow Horses. Originally interrupted by Shirley at the start of the season, Beppe's cafe is also where Cartwright leaves a message for Louisa explaining that he might also leave Slough House.
Tours which arrive at Beppe's Cafe before 13:30 are free to briefly stop here for some light refreshments (which are not included in the cost of the tour). Tours which start after 13:00 will be unable to visit inside Beppe's Cafe as it will close at approximately 14:00.
10 Minuten
4
50 Long Ln
The abandoned business was taken over by the Slow Horses crew for the final two episodes of season one. It is here that Roddy tracks the dogs who are frantically searching for the Sons of Albion, reveals that he has a tracker on Lamb's car, and learns that sometimes human intelligence and people skills are the best way to gather information.
5 Minuten
5
Mittlere Straße
Middle Street and the nearby Easy Passage are where Shirley and Longridge chase a member of season three's Tiger Team. Whilst here, you will discover how different parts of London, which are often miles apart, are edited together to make action sequences that capture the audience’s imagination.
If you're feeling energetic, you could also attempt to recreate some of Longridge and Dander's chase scenes here whilst your guide takes videos and photos for you.
5 Minuten
6
Vecchio Parioli
Vecchio Parioli is now almost as iconic as Slow Horses, the TV show, as this cosy Italian restaurant sits unsuspectingly below Slough House.
Seen in Season Four of Slow Horses, Lamb and Tregorian visit here for Lunch. Whilst here, Lamb explains to Tregorian that she is in Slough House for one of two reasons.
0 Minute
7
129 Aldersgate St
129 Aldersgate Street is the home of Slough House, where Jackson Lamb and his Slow Horses work. But what is the building really used for? Find out on this tour.
0 Minute
8
Goswell Road
This road, outside Slough House, is featured several times throughout the Slow Horses TV series. This is your chance to stand where Jackson Lamb stood and take photos that will be the envy of your friends.
10 Minuten
9
Golden Lane Estate
This area of Barbican is featured several times in Slow Horses, including the scene where Roddy dances to work before being saved from assassination by Dander.
Feeling brave? Why not recreate the scene from the show, or dance through this area pretending to be Roddy!
15 Minuten
10
2 Fann St
2 Fann Street is where Lamb and Champman (the former Head Dog) meet to discuss the latest developments throughout seasons two to five of Slow Horses.
Whilst here, your guide will explain why locations like this one make the perfect place for spies (or as they are often known in the UK, 'spooks') to meet. And how the Apple TV series of Slow Horses has brought tourists to an area of London which is normally off the tourist trail.
10 Minuten
11
Barbican Zentrum
In recent years, the Barbican Centre has become a major hub for film and TV production, including the series Slow Horses. As you explore this historic post-Second World War housing estate, your guide will explain not only how this location has been used in Slow Horses but also how it has been used in other TV series such as Andor, music videos by artists such as Harry Styles, and films such as Quantum of Solace. Your guide will also explain some behind-the-scenes history of this iconic housing development, including how residents cope with the centrally controlled heating system, how one of the streets under the development failed air quality tests, and just how far the large towers sway in high winds, despite being made of solid concrete.
You will, of course, be shown the filming locations from Slow Horses, and if needed, have time to use the facilities housed within the Barbican centre, such as their restrooms and café.
25 Minuten
12
Gresham Street
Once you arrive at Gresham Street, your guide will explain how one of the most exciting stunts from season four was filmed right outside the City of London Corporation, the body responsible for running ‘the square mile’, the City of London. This beautifully choreographed and filmed fight sequence involving Flyte and Cartwright was shot over multiple night shoots and involved props that are now rarely seen in films which filmed in London.
Whilst here, you will also hear how Slow Horses, unlike other TV shows and films, tends to use real place names for filming locations in the series rather than fake names.
5 Minuten
13
Lothbury
Lothbury is the location of the anticapitalist protests in season two. At this location you will discover why this location matches with real anticapitalist protests, how they were able to film such a large protest in the heart of the city of London, and how the very large buildings in the background of Slow Horses, one of the most important buildings in the whole of United Kingdom, is completely ignored when second desk issues ‘Code September’.
5 Minuten
14
Throgmorton Street
Throgmorton Street is the location where Catherine Standish gets lost in the anticapitalist protests before finding her way to the glasshouse. At this location, you will discover how the other seemingly impossible-to-track-down side streets, alleyways, and roads of London were researched and unearthed to create this tour, a process similar to the way intelligence agencies piece together plots, attacks, and uncover foreign agents.
5 Minuten
15
St. Michaels Cornhill
Beneath this church lie the remains of the Roman basilica built in London in the first century A.D. It is also said that this church is the first Christian place of worship in London. During the tour, your guide will explain not only the Slow Horses' links to this church, but also its impressive history.
This church, with its iconic statue at its entrance, doubles up as St Lawrence’s Church in Slow Horses. It is in this church that spies such as Min Harper and Sir Charles Partner have their memorials, and it is also here where Jackson Lamb meets Ingrid Tearney in Season Three.
Unfortunately, since this church is an active place of worship, it is not always possible for tours to gain access to the interior of the church. However, your guide will do their best to secure access on the day, and even if only the exterior is available during the tour, this won’t stop you from recreating memorable moments, such as Jackson Lamb standing on the steps outside the church.
10 Minuten
16
Castle Court
Castle Court appears to be just another alleyway in the city of London. So why visit it? The answer is simple: in season three, Shirley Dander runs down this road whilst chasing members of the Tiger team. Whilst running down this alleyway, something highly amusing happens, but only if you know what to look for. All will be revealed at this location by your guide.
5 Minuten
17
Die königliche Börse
Upon arrival at The Royal Exchange, your guide will provide an explanation of the history of this iconic building as well as the historically significant buildings that surround The Royal Exchange. Your guide will then explain how this area was used to film the anticapitalist protests and the arrival of Peter Judd, Slow Horses' Home Secretary, as well as what happens in the series when Second Desk calls 'Code September'.
Additionally, your guide will explain how this area was previously used in Season One of Slow Horses and how the final episode, in which Robert Hobden is assassinated by Mick Duffy (the then Head of the Dogs), is executed in a way that would be impossible in real London.
